A very pleasant stay. Tranquil. We would not hesitate to come again or to recommend to friends.

This was a surprise for my husband on our 21st wedding anniversary. As an ex Royal Navy Diver he was delighted to be sleeping once again close to the salty sea air. So welcoming and comfortable, we will be back, thank you so much for a unique experience.

We had a wonderful experience with the lights and stars. Thank you for the amazing time here. My dream came true!

We had a beautiful week at Buchan Ness Lighthouse. May his light never end. For us Buchan Ness Lighthouse is one of the most beautiful places we saw. We felt at home at once and enjoyed the tastefully decorated rooms which spread a friendly and special hearty atmosphere...Sheila’s spirit!

What an experience, the girls had a great birthday party here, we had lots of fun and photos, delightful, comfortable and a great place to explore. We will never forget this short stay here, and we will definitely be back again and we really can’t wait for that day to come. Absolutely perfect xx

Lovely wee place to spend the weekend. Hannah’s 4th birthday treat (she has a thing about lighthouses) coinciding with Valentines Day - most special indeed! Stunning inside, most cosy and comfortable: would love to visit again, maybe in summer.

Safe and secure in our lighthouse cottage, we listen to the wind and the rain.
Strong gusts of wind blow against the bedroom window.
Waves crash over the rocks in the inky blackness outside.
Which is only punctuated by the rotating beams of light from the towering lighthouse.
We have visited endless sandy beaches and spied gannets, seals, terns and buzzards.
Treacherous sea cliffs, stacks and arches, golf courses by the dozen.
Hidden harbours, fishing villages and castle ruins.
We feel at home in our cottage sanctuary.
The gate is firmly closed at the end of the causeway onto our little island.

Absolutely amazing start to the year, this place is a little gem. Thanks for the wonderful hospitality. A revisit will definitely be on in the future.

An absolutely beautiful place. This cottage has real heart and soul. No better place exists for the family reunion we have experienced. Thank you Sheila for your wonderful welcome and generosity.

Good peaceful stay, a lovely cottage. The weather was good for most of the two weeks. The locals are quite a friendly bunch who tell you about the place, while we sat on a bench in a sunny corner of the village. Thank you Sheila for a well presented and lovely clean cottage in a wonderful setting.

We have had the most perfect time with fantastic weather too. The island is so peaceful, and the sounds of the sea are so calming.

We would like to come back and enjoy the sea, good weather, and comfort of this particular cottage on the little island. Thank you very much. It’s hard to go!!!
