Buchan Ness Lighthouse “Skerry Cottage” Terms & Conditions
Please note: Use of the accommodation is subject to accepting these terms and conditions. Please read them carefully before arranging your holiday.
1) We strongly recommend that you take out your own holiday insurance, as holiday cancellation insurance is not included in our rental agreement.
2) We are pleased to secure your booking on payment of the full amount, we will hold provisional bookings for 7 days, to allow payment to be made. The total balance will be due 2 months before the start of your holiday.
3) Please let us know, in writing, as soon as possible, if you need to cancel your holiday,as your booking deposit is non-returnable if it is too late, or we are unable to re-book the holiday.
4) If we manage to re-book the holiday, an admin fee of 45.00 gbp will be charged, and the rest of your deposit returned.
5) The cottage is available from 3pm. On the day of arrival, and must be vacated no longer than 10.30am. on the day of departure.
6) The contract is for holiday accommodation only, and in accordance with Housing (Scotland ) Act, is not an “Assured Tenancy”
7) The rental agreement is for the cottage only,. The grounds may be used for other activities, at the Owners discretion. Please feel free to enquire if you wish prices for use of other areas, including the Helipad.
8) Accommodation should be left clean and tidy. We reserve the right to make a charge for extra cleaning if necessary. If you wish to have a daily cleaning service, please contact us re.prices.
9) The website and brochure are as accurate as possible, but cannot be guaranteed, nor do the descriptions constitute any contract. Nor are we responsible for the content of any links from our website. We reserve the right to alter or improve the content of our website or brochure without prior notice.
10) Airport transfer: We are situated approx. 30miles from Dyce airport. We can arrange for taxi transport from the airport, or if you wish to use the Helipad, please let us know.
11) In accordance with current legislation, we operate a non-smoking policy in the cottage. Burning candles is also forbidden.
12) If necessary, the Owners reserve the right to enter the property at any reasonable time.
13) We regret that we cannot accept any responsibility, or pay any compensation, if for circumstances totally out with our control; we are unable to provide your booked accommodation for the holiday period. In this case we will endeavour to provide alternative accommodation. If this is not acceptable, then any rental monies paid will be refunded, and the liability of the owners will be met in full.
Please remember that Buchan Ness is a working lighthouse, and the Lighthouse Board must have 24 hour unrestricted access across the bridge to the lighthouse. Let us know your vehicle details, and we will arrange a suitable parking spot. Vehicles are parked at owners own risk, and the Owners are not responsible for any theft or damage which may occur.
